An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our accounting and finance subject within the School of Business and Technology. Due to a growth trajectory, including a new purpose built new Business School opening in September 2018, we are now seeking additional staff. We are looking for exceptional candidates to join a well-established dynamic subject team.
The Business School includes a substantial Trading Room and many state-of the-art new facilities for both staff and students, including a collaborative lecture room and social learning space and breakout areas. Business partnerships are at the heart of what we do and this will be enhanced by our co-location with the regional LEP, Growth Hub and University in Business in our new facilities.
To become part of our team you will be someone who can contribute to world-class teaching and work successfully with a range of students across our course portfolio. We are looking for contributions to the teaching of areas such as Taxation, Financial Services, Professional Services and a number of areas within Finance, such as Financial Markets, Management Accounting, Forensic Accounting and Auditing. Professional industry experience is essential, alongside a relevant professional qualification.
If you have the enthusiasm for your subject area we can give you the opportunities to be involved in teaching, doctoral supervision, research, and income generating activities. For the grade of Senior Lecturer, you should be able to contribute to the academic management of the subject community in a variety of ways. Such candidates would also be expected to take on an academic management role within the subject group such as: course leadership; contributing to academic development; REF submission; generating research income; or generating Business Development income.
The Accounting and Finance subject group has an established range of taught provision in accounting and finance at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including international partnerships and higher apprenticeships. We pride ourselves on our support for students and aiding students in their employability and personal growth, through innovative pedagogy developments and real-world engagements in our programmes. We are well recognised for our substantial portfolio of postgraduate research students (PhD/DBA) across accounting and finance.
