Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design
|Salary:||Grade 7/8 £33,199 - £48,676 per annum|
The Graphic Design course aims to develop our students as dynamic, agile and flexible design thinkers of the future. At the heart of the course are ideas and a solutions focused ability to execute these ideas with clarity and simplicity. The course prides itself in understanding the requirements of the future opportunities for students, whether that is to be employed in the best creative consultancies, become creative entrepreneurs or further the study of practice as research. Our aim is to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate consumers as we work with our students to contextualize concepts and present solutions focused creatives that use design thinking strategies in problem solving.
To build upon our established national and international profile, and with a legacy of innovative, experimental practice and research in Graphic Design, we are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team to help take this course into the next stage of its development.
You will have recent experience of teaching students across all levels in HE together with 2D and 3D practice experience. You will be able to bring your experience of working in the creative industries and/or related research areas, to teach students design competencies in practice and theory. We are looking to explore national and international opportunities to push the boundaries of design thinking and grow our practitioner-based research strategies.
You will be expected to teach, organize and assess students across Undergraduate and Postgraduate cohorts with the opportunity to supervise PhDs.
Although this is principally an academic post, you will be expected to underpin your teaching with creative practice and research activities.
While this is a full time post, we would also be happy to consider part time applications.
