The Estates Department

The Estates Department takes great pride in fostering a thriving physical environment, upholding a standard of excellence in presentation, and supporting our staff and students as well as visitors and anyone who uses our facilities. 

 

Ourmission is to provide a professional, cost-effective estates management service that ensures the University's academic and research endeavours proceed safely and efficiently. We aim to cultivate an environment that instils pride in our community, fostering sustainable learning activities for all.

 

Responsibilities of the department include managing the estates strategy, property maintenance, property management, facilities management, and health, safety, and environmental oversight.

 

Clerk of Works 

We are now recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works to join our Estates team on a fixed term basis. Working at our City Campus, you will be responsible for the witnessing and commissioning of all building related disciplines as well as carrying out both pre and post handover snagging to ensure the University can move into an operationally sound building upon completion.  

 

Aside from the opportunity, you will also be eligible for 32 days annual leave (Pro rota) (plus bank holidays and university closure days), enrolled onto our private pension*, access to Vivup which provide 100 of discount and offer as well on the job training from an experienced leadership team.

*Successful applicants with evidence of current, continuous membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) will be eligible to continue membership of the scheme – further information can be provided throughout the process.
