Description
We are currently seeking a Procurement Category Specialist to join the team. Depending on experience this will either be a Procurement Category Manager or a Senior Procurement Category Manager. Please see full details below.
About the Department
Sat within the CFO function, the Commercial and Procurement team are responsible for commercial and procurement activities that run across the University. With the move to a centralised model, the team are responsible for ensuring best practices are adopted, resulting in high standards of performance, cost effectiveness, and resource efficiency.
Working closely with stakeholders across the university, this team plays a pivotal part in changing how we approach commercial agreements, adhere to procurement compliance and drive forward new strategies.
About the role
To support the new ways of working we are now seeking a Senior Procurement Category Manager and Procurement Category Manager to join and implement these changes. You will be responsible for all commercial and procurement related activity such as tendering, contracts, supplier management, risk assessment for several different categories as well educating and taking others on the journey to embed efficient processes.
You will have an eye for detail and good sense of business acumen and be able to influence change at all levels of the organisation.
As Senior PCM you will also work closely with the Head of Commercial and Procurement to nurture and grow a new team within the university, providing a great opportunity to come in and shape this new function for long term success.
Having experience in IT or Estates category management is desirable.
