Description

 

The School of Education and Science is seeking to appoint a part-time Technician to support its Geography and environment-related Bioscience provision from mid-February 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter).

 

As a Technician, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of technical support for teaching, assessment and research. You will play a supporting role in ordering, preparing and maintaining materials and equipment and ensuring their safe disposal. You’ll help to ensure the safe and effective operation of our Geography and Bioscience facilities, undertaking and relaying Risk and COSHH assessments and support training on equipment.

 

Geography and Bioscience have a strong reputation for high-quality, research-informed teaching, having consistently placed in the top 10 for student satisfaction in The Guardian and The Times University League Tables and regularly co-publishing with students. The group has consistently been submitted for the REF and remains central to the University’s goal of achieving internationally-excellent and world-class outputs and impact from the majority of its research. The School of Education & Science is in robust health, offering an extensive range of subjects and inter-disciplinary work. It is sited on the University’s Francis Close Hall Campus, in the attractive surrounds of Cheltenham and with the Cotswolds on our doorstep.
