We are looking for a full-time person but would consider part-time at 0.8fte.

 

This is a fixed term role until 31 July 2025

 

GROWS is a consortium of higher education providers within Gloucestershire, led by the University of Gloucestershire.  GROWS deliver the Office for Students (OfS) Uni Connect Programme locally in Gloucestershire. The project is funded by OfS to July 2025 with a possible extension for future funding.

 

The project has a remit to work with schools and colleges in Gloucestershire to provide a range of interventions to ensure young people are well informed about their educational options to encourage aspiration/ support ambitions to progress to higher education level study (including apprenticeships). 

The WP Officer role will join a team who scope, devise and deliver a range of generic and subject activities to regional schools, using your own expertise and sourcing resource from partner institutions.  The offer is made up of a range of engaging informational presentations, workshops, and experiences delivered both in school and on campuses to secondary aged pupils, their parents and teachers.  Many of these sessions are written and provided for you.

 

We are looking for a person who has experience of secondary school aged young people as well as extensive experience of organising and delivering events and giving presentations. The role would suit someone who is confident to regularly present to large audiences of secondary aged students, and can enthuse, motivate and provide support to young people.  You should have personal experience of the UK education landscape, including undertaking a university undergraduate course.

 

You’ll need great IT skills especially using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint and an interest in the social mobility agenda and evaluating impact. You’ll join a supportive but busy team. The post will have agile working with a mixture of working days in schools and in the central office, with frequent travel around the region required- taking boxes of resources, stands and equipment.
