About the school or department

 

The Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI) is one of the largest specialist rural research centres in the UK, working at the interface of agriculture, society and the environment on issues relevant to rural and urban development, in the UK, Europe and further afield.

 

The CCRI works with colleagues and partners in the physical as well as social sciences, covering a wide range of topics which include agriculture, forestry, food, soil science, fisheries, climate change and net zero, communities, and health and well-being; to engage with the policy, human, technological and environmental challenges faced by society, by carrying out research in a rigorous, dynamic and inclusive approach to deepen our shared understanding.

 

About the role

The postholder will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex academic research and various stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, industry partners, and the general public. The role involves creating, developing, and disseminating high-quality communication materials that effectively translate research findings into accessible formats This will contribute to the communication requirements of a number of externally funded research projects.

 

The postholder will also carry out research communications and impact development activity relating to the wider portfolio of research contracts and grants that the CCRI is carrying out.
