Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Bursary
A professional doctorate bursary (part-time fees for 1 year - £3625) is being offered as part of a strategic plan to develop impact in sport and exercise settings by the University of Gloucestershire. The professional doctorate involves part-time study, normally alongside current employment, with the student expected to start the Professional doctorate with a new cohort on 1st February 2024. Applications where joint funding from an employer is possible will be strongly considered.
Applications are invited for a one-year part time research bursary to undertake a Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise. Candidates would be expected to propose a research project that will make a significant impact in working environments and within organisations. Applications based within the Sport and Exercise cluster research themes would be welcomed:
- Human Movement Dynamics
- Injury Prevention and Coaching Practice
- Sport, Exercise and Wellbeing in Society
We would welcome applications from individuals who have a Masters degree (or equivalent) in a related subject area (e.g., coach education, sports science, exercise science, philosophy, physical activity and well-being, strength and conditioning, sports therapy, physiology, biomechanics) and interests or experiences in:
· Significant industry experience
· Demonstrable interests in applied work with the intention on creating change
· Experience of working with external partners.
· Familiarity of quantitative and qualitative data analysis including use of Excel and SPSS
· Previous demonstrable experience in applied real world settings
