Fixed term from Dec 2023 to 31st March 2024
Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester
1 FTE – 37 hours per week
This post could also be filled by 2 part-time applicants provided that the working week (M-F) would be covered between the successful candidates
About the Department
The Library, Technology and Information Service is at heart an academic service that is integrated within the curriculum and co-curriculum delivered to each student, supporting the research needs of staff and students.
The successful candidate will initially be based at Oxstalls campus library in Gloucester which supports the Business School, School of Health, and the Sport Sciences and Performing Arts courses.
About the role
The postholder will work closely with subject librarians at Oxstalls and will be engaged in tasks focused on the management of the library collections including reading list development, digitisation, records maintenance and copyright compliance. The postholder will perform Research Repository administrative tasks that facilitate the digital dissemination of research publications and postgraduate research theses. Assistant librarians are expected to support academic staff and students in the use of library systems, educational technology (VLE, referencing software, TALIS resource list management technology) and digital resources to locate relevant literature which may involve training either 1-1 or assisting with group training.
The postholder will also be expected to contribute to the development of new library services, periodically supporting other library teams, and participate in service evaluation and feedback to continually improve the services.
Previous experience in a library role/HE environment and well-founded confidence in using a variety of library/educational software applications would be beneficial.
