Description

Thank you for being so interested in joining the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI).

CCRI is the largest specialist rural research centre in the UK, having expertise in all aspects of research in policy and planning for the countryside and the environment of the UK, Europe and further afield.  We are a team of social scientists with various disciplinary backgrounds ranging from anthropologists to policy analysts via data scientists and economists.

As the CCRI is in a period of expansion we are welcoming speculative applications for the posts of Research Assistant or Fellow, which will be considered as and when new opportunities arise.  We would encourage you to complete the application form and leave a tailored letter to support your CV or application, CV’s without supporting documentation are unlikely to be successful.

We are looking for people who have a knowledge of the topics studied at the CCRI (see our website) who are able to work at pace within a supportive but high achieving environment.  All those employed at the CCRI are actively engaged in publishing development activities and will have opportunities to develop their research skills.

We are a diverse team with people with a strong ethos of mutual support and encouragement.  Our achievements have been recognised by the last REF, when we were described as ‘an internationally significant research institute’.  We work with a wide range of collaborators, communities, and partners to create meaningful change.

Speculative applications

We are always looking to hear from those who have experience and desire to work in a research. If you have a masters, experience of research methods, research processes, and an interest in the end-to-end lifecycle of a research project, please submit a speculative application. Please ensure you outline any recent research you are undergoing and what projects you would be interested in working on.

We have attached an information document which outlines that skills and experience we would require along with key responsibilities. However, at the point we are actively recruiting job we would send you the approve job description for the role.

What will happen with my application?

We will keep your details on file for 12 months and if we feel we are recruiting for a suitable position to match your skills, we will be in touch with further information. Please ensure that if you see any opportunities that interest you, please contact askhr@glos.ac.uk.

By submitting a speculative application, does not automatically mean you have applied for any roles we formally recruit for.
