The
National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) aims to realise a step
change in rural business innovation and unlock potential in the UK’s rural
economies. It responds to a national strategic need for a visible, accessible,
and respected source of evidence, knowledge exchange, leadership, and
enterprise development for rural economies.
This
position offers an exciting opportunity to link the research and policy work of
the SW NICRE team based at the CCRI in Cheltenham, networking, and
co-developing innovation, understanding and ideas by working closely with rural
business organisations and supporters in the south-west of England, reaching
from Cornwall to Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Itwould be suited to someone
who has previous experience of business engagement and networking as well as a
keen interest in rural entrepreneurship and rural businesses of all sorts.
The
ideal candidate will support the instigation, delivery, and dissemination of
NICRE projects and initiatives, including innovation projects, policy reports
and engagement events as well as regular liaison with key national and regional
stakeholders for rural businesses and communities. It will provide a varied
portfolio of engagement activities and enable you to develop skills and knowledge
of rural enterprise and its challenges within a supportive team environment,
over a clearly defined two-year period. It requires a good communicator with
sound organisational skills and the ability to adapt rapidly to new challenges
and opportunities.
