Based at Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester
The Gloucestershire Business School is seeking to
appoint a talented researcher to the post of Research Fellow/Senior
Research Fellow to effectively support the launch of the School’s Institute of
Finance in Society, in partnership with St James’ Place Wealth Management.
Whilst developed in partnership, the independent Research Institute specialises
in social and technical research exploring a range of areas of finance to
impact both organisational practice and sector wide policy. It will aim to
provide technical and policy advice to both organisations and government. The
Institute will seek to develop research of an international standard exploring
a range of areas of finance in society including:
- Access to financial services and financial exclusion.
- Addressing internal skills gaps in the financial services industry
- Exploring financial capability and decision making
- Diversity and Inclusion in the Financial Services
The post holder will also support the delivery and
supervision of our Masters level students completing the MBA Financial
Planning, MSc Finance and MSc Applied Financial Services Management.
We have developed an international reputation for our applied research,
and we are a leading business school for the quality of our teaching provision.
Whilst within this post you will provide a major contribution to the research,
development of pedagogy within the under- graduate and post-graduate teaching
and curriculum development. The Business School boasts a £20m
purpose-built building, which is also home to the Growth Hub and to the
Department of Business Engagement. This cohabitation with the business
community gives our staff and students the opportunity to interact seamlessly,
and on a regular basis, working on real life projects that help foster the growth
of our students, businesses and the whole region’s economy. Our courses cover
areas from business management, accounting, finance, law, marketing and
hospitality and tourism management. The School has a growing research profile
with an impressive track record in winning European research bids.
The School is on track to make a strong submission to the next Research
Excellence Framework.
