& Exercise – Sports Therapy

This is a 6 month fixed term contract
1.0FTE
Based at Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester
The School of Sport and Exercise
require a flexible and agile workforce to maintain a quality student experience
at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Providing a research-informed teaching
approach which is grounded in a multidisciplinary environment for learning is a
priority for the School. The School of Sport and Exercise will continue to
adapt to sports industry trends in graduate employment to offer a fit for
purpose curriculum where professional contexts are overtly referenced and
evaluated. Staff who are well networked in their professional context and who
engage in impactful research for their relevant profession will support the
continued ambitions for student employability at the University.
The successful candidate should have a BSc and/or MSc degree in Sport Therapy, Sport Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Athletic Training (or relevant subject area), with professional membership or accreditation to SST, BASRaT or similar (or eligibility to attain this upon employment). It is integral that candidates have the knowledge and understanding of competencies required for Graduate Sports Therapists, whilst being enthusiastic about the delivery in a student-centred pedagogical way. With revived and progressive course outline, the successful candidate will join a dynamic Sports Therapy team, that aims to develop graduates into successful, contemporary professionals, who are prepared for Graduate life.
Therapy and Rehabilitation
facilities include examination rooms with plinths, diagnostic ultrasound,
electrotherapy and access to a multifunctional laboratory containing multiple
force plates, integrated high-speed camera system, 3D movement analysis, EMG,
isokinetic dynamometer and computerised dynamic balance systems, environmental
chamber and Strength and Conditioning suite.
