Job Details
The
University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint Postgraduate level
supervisors for our Global MBA, Masters and Apprenticeship programmes within
the Gloucestershire Business School, on a part-time contract basis. We
would particularly welcome applicants who have expertise in International
Business, Management, FinTech, HRM, Operational Management and Productivity and
applied work-based research projects.
The
successful candidates will demonstrate experience and expertise in supervising postgraduate
students and it is expected that candidates that be familiar with current
developments (business and/or academic research) within their field of practice
/ study.
The majority
of the supervision will take place face-to-face, either on campus in person or
online (via MS Teams). Supervision will involve acting
as a critical friend and supporting students to complete their dissertation. This
will involve:

Reading drafts and giving constructive feedback.
·
Holding up to 6 contact sessions with students,
in person or online, to provide a critical review of each chapter of their
dissertation.
·
Marking & moderation of student work.
·
Uploading grades and feedback onto the
University’s Vle.
There are no
set working hours designated to this role, although it is expected that
supervision meetings will be delivered between Mon – Fri 9am to 5pm (UK
time).
Candidates
would be expected to take on circa. 10 dissertations, depending on their
knowledge, experience and availability. This
role commences in January 2022 and will involve attending an induction session
for all supervisors. This is likely to be online in late-Dec 2021 / early-Jan
2022.
The ideal
candidates will:

Be qualified to Master’s Level (Level 7) or
equivalent.
·
Have recent and demonstratable experience of
supervising postgraduate students with dissertation / research projects.
·
Have experience of supporting students online.
·
Be based in the UK.
The
Gloucestershire Business School
