PhD
STUDENTSHIPS IN ENGLISH LITERATURE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE
(CHELTENHAM) STARTING 1 FEBRUARY 2022
The University of Gloucestershire is offering ONE full-time (or TWO
part-time) PhD studentships in English Literature. The studentship covers 100% of home fees for
one year of study only. In subsequent years candidates will have to pay
full fees. The start of the PhD is February 2022.
Research
topics will be based within the following areas:

Literature and decolonisation
·
North American literature
·
Contemporary women’s writing
·
Children’s and young adult literature
·
Travel writing
·
Poetry and the environment
You will be studying under the team
supervision of experienced academics who have supervised PhDs and MAs to
completion.
The studentship is an exciting
opportunity to undertake an original research project. The successful applicant(s)
will be based at the University of Gloucestershire’s Francis Close Hall Campus.
You will be part of a stimulating research student environment and a vibrant
outward-looking Research Priority Area, Culture, Continuity and Transformation.
Applicants must have a BA (Hons)
in English or English Literature (at least 2:1 standard or equivalent), and
hold a Masters qualification in a relevant subject. A demonstrable interest in
the named research topics is an advantage.

for interview (to be held online), date to be confirmed but likely to be early
