Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Operating Department Practice

Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester

 

The School of Health and Social Care is looking for an academic staff to support the growth in Operating Department Practice education. The University runs a BSc (Hons) Operating department practice programme and a Level 7 Anaesthetic module as part of the post graduate provision. The innovative curriculum has been designed to develop the ODP of the future. The courses have been co-produced with key local stakeholders to prepare a sustainable ODP workforce for Gloucestershire and beyond.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced academic to deliver a high-quality curriculum, or a highly skilled in clinician who wishes to move into an academic post. We would welcome applications from candidates with either Operating Department Practice or Theatre Nursing specialisms.

 

There is opportunity for full-time, job-share or fractional posts within the current academic structure.

 

It is essential that the post holder is a registered ODP or nurse with theatre experience and has current HCPC and/or NMC registration. Experience in teaching in higher education is desirable.

 

For successful candidates who do not currently have a postgraduate teaching qualification. The University offers a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice which you would be supported to complete following appointment.

 

There is a clear expectation that the post holder engages in the staff development programme provided. The role is based on our site at Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester. The role holder may be required to work at any university site or any other reasonable location where the university is undertaking its business.

 

This post requires a DBS check.
