Part Time Hourly Paid Lecturer in Photography

The School of Arts comprises a vibrant community of practitioners and scholars who together deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses across five subject areas: Fine Art, Performing Arts and Production, Design, Architecture & Constructed Environments & Photography. Research and postgraduate research are part of the School’s environment, working across subjects and levels.

The purpose of this role

Applications are sought for the position of Associate Lecturer in Photography. We are seeking practitioners and theorists who can help cover two internal vacancies and who who have expertise in the following fields:

  • Professional practice
  • Moving image
  • Level 5 theory of photography
  • Experimental processes
  • Studio lighting and constructed images

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in photography at both under- and postgraduate levels and be committed to teaching in a student-centred environment. Applicants will need to be passionate about, and committed to, the development of students and will want to provide excellent pedagogic opportunities for learning and development.

Applicants will be excited about the ways in which students learn, and how photography and the creative industries are developing. Bringing an awareness of how ideas, research and creative thinking and how this can engage students and stimulate their practice is essential.
