Description
The University’s Estates Department manages the grounds and sports pitches of our campuses in Gloucester and Cheltenham.
We are looking for an experienced Grounds Person to join our Grounds Team on a six month fixed term contract (37hrs per week). You will have a can-do attitude, work well as part of a team and use your initiative to complete tasks within deadlines.
Amongst a range of essential requirements detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification you must be able to demonstrate:
- proven experience in working within grounds/gardening
- competency and knowledge of using a range of grounds equipment, e.g. mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters.
- your practical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
You will also hold
• hold a full current driving licence
hold:
- minimum of an NVQ Level Two qualification in a ground related area, such as Horticulture or Landscape
- Chainsaw qualification
- Spraying qualification
The selection process will be in two parts, a socially distanced face to face interview, and a half day of practical tests to access different essential competences of the position.
