Re-advertisement due to change in
previously advertised working pattern.
We are seeking to recruit two part
time (0.5 FTE, 18.5 hours per week) accredited therapists (BACP, UKCP, BCP, BPS or
equivalent) to join an established counselling team working with students with
complex and wide-ranging issues.
You will carry a caseload of
individual clients, provide Counselling Drop-in sessions and contribute to
on-going service development and provision. The Counselling Service is part of
a wider Student Services team in a University committed to supporting students.
The ideal candidate will have a
recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (min. Diploma level 5)
and substantial post qualification experience. This must include significant
experience of working within a brief time-limited counselling framework, and
proven ability to manage risk.
You will ideally have experience
and/or understanding of issues within the HE sector and their impact on
counselling in a University setting. Team work is highly valued and you will
demonstrate an understanding of a range of clinical perspectives, and the
ability to value and work alongside a variety of therapeutic approaches and be
a team player.
We recognise the value of a
diverse team and we particularly welcome applications from candidates from
underrepresented groups.
It is anticipated that
the majority of work will beundertaken on campus. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus

experience of providing online counselling is desirable.
