Description

Maternity Cover position offered at either 29.6 hours per week for 12 months or 37 hours per week for 10 months.

At the University of Gloucestershire, our social media and online storytelling go hand in hand with our commitment to sustainability and doing things differently. We’re the first University we know of to ditch our printed prospectus and replace it with Instagram Stories and an interactive digital prospectus. It’s an exciting time to join our team.

As the Social Media Manager, you will deliver against an ambitious new social media strategy that puts authentic content development and the student voice at its very heart. You will be focused on helping us grow our online communities and ensuring that social media is the driving force behind bringing our student recruitment campaigns to life.

In this role, you will champion social media and be a passionate advocate for all that it can do for our university community, providing insight and consultation to colleagues running their own accounts around the university.

As the social media lead within our award-winning team, you’ll have the chance to work with some of the best creative agencies working in higher education in the UK. You will also support and coach a new and growing social media team to become creatively independent and bold in their ideas.

If you have experience of managing multiple social media channels for a large organisation, are able to work at both a strategic and operational level and have a track record in delivering great online content, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing Date: Wednesday, 21 April 2021

Interview Date: to be confirmed

The University understands the benefits of recruiting a diverse range of people and welcome applications from under-represented sections of the community.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, guaranteeing to offer an interview to anyone who meets the definition of disability set out in the Equality Act 2010 and who meets all of the essential criteria contained within the person specification.
