The University of Gloucestershire,
School of Arts is seeking to appoint an inspirational Senior Lecturer in Quantity
Surveying (The post will
may be required to take on the role of Academic Course Leader in Quantity
Surveying, leading
the development of a distinctive and contemporary curriculum that meets the
industry practitioners and professional bodies accreditation procedures).
We are looking for an enthusiastic
and experienced academic with a future-focused approach and ambition to
establish a successful new department of Quantity Surveying within the
Architecture, Construction and Environment Subject group.
You will be able to demonstrate
comprehensive understanding of contemporary industry practice in Quantity
Surveying, as well as the requirements of the professional bodies.
The University of Gloucestershire
has excellent links with industry and in particular local and regional construction
and built environment businesses, including Quantity Surveyors.
The successful applicant will
continue to develop and liaise with local and regional businesses to create
opportunities for students, courses, subject area, school and the university.
Candidates for this role, will
ideally have experience of developing and contributing to under and
postgraduate Quantity Surveying programmes, as well as apprenticeship
programmes.
The successful candidate will have
substantial experience of teaching Quantity Surveying and will contribute to discipline
teaching practices across the Architecture, Construction and Environment
subject area. Candidates will demonstrate skills in team leadership; course
organisation and management; innovative teaching and curriculum enhancement is
essential.
Candidates will be a trained,
qualified Quantity Surveyors, ideally with experience of working in practice
and Higher Education teaching.
You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to sustainability,
digital construction technologies and contemporary pedagogical approaches and
an ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external
stakeholders. The successful candidate will be student-focussed and committed
to providing excellence in quantity surveying and built environment education
