LTI Technologist - Health & Social Care  

Fixed Term Contract until 31st July  2023

Based at Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester

1.0 FTE 

The Library, Technology and Information (LTI) Service department are seeking to recruit a LTI Technologist (Health and Social Care) to work in our IT Operations team.
 
The LTI Technologist (Health and Social Care) is a post that forms part of the first-line service of LTI. The postholder provides a range of IT & technology enhanced learning support across the School of Health and Social Care, primarily focused on supporting the technology, staff & students within our blended learning nursing programmes.
 
The postholder will take responsibility for resolving technical IT problems, delivering IT & technology enhanced learning training to academic colleagues, promoting the use and best practice of virtual classroom technology and supporting Learning Analytics systems and Virtual Reality technology. 

 


Key Skills:

 

IT Training & First Line Experience – You’ll need to have significant experience of working within the area of First Line IT with a working knowledge of Windows, MacOS & Office 365 technologies. As well as undertaking First Line IT tasks, you’ll be providing technical training on how best to use the resources & virtual classroom technology available, so a patient & supportive approach with a dedication to improving the skills of others is important. 

 

Organisation & Workload Management – You will need to be effective at working on tasks both within a team and on your own using your own initiative. You will have responsibility for School based IT projects and need to have the ability to ensure these projects are delivered on time and to requirements. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload and adapt to any unforeseen circumstances.

 

Communication & Teamwork – In the role you will be in regular contact with IT Technicians, skilled IT specialists as well as technical (and non-technical) University staff and students. The ability to communicate effectively to all of these people is essential.

 

Enthusiastic Approach – An enthusiastic approach with a dedication to service improvement & user experience is key to this role. You will have a customer focused mind-set with a passion to troubleshoot issues & develop solutions.

Experience of troubleshooting IT problems & providing technical training in a similar customer-facing role would be beneficial.
