Inter-library Loan Officer 37 hours per week, 1.0FTE


The University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an Inter-library Loan Officer within its Library, Technology & Information Service (LTI) department.

 

The Inter-library Loan Officer post is 1 of 3 resource acquisition posts, these postholders each fulfil their discrete roles and at the same time they form a co-operative team.


The successful candidate will manage and administer the inter-library loan service sourcing and supplying digital and print requests from University patrons and libraries worldwide. They will have experience of using a library management system, including system configuration. This post requires a systematic and methodical approach, the ability to develop and improve processes, assume responsibility for the ILL service, manage the budget and prioritise tasks. A knowledge of copyright, licensing and open access publishing in an HE environment is required.

 

The successful candidate will have exceptional customer service skills and must be able to handle quantities of books which involves stretching and bending. They will need to possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work using their own initiative. A degree of flexibility to meet the occasional demand to cover evening or weekend hours along with working at all University campuses is required.
