Senior Lecturer in Music (including Course Leadership for BA Popular Music)
1.0 FTE
Based at our Park Campus, Cheltenham
As a result of ongoing expansion and strong recruitment in our Music provision at the University of Gloucestershire, we are looking to appoint a full-time senior lecturer in Music. The post will also include Course Leadership of the BA Popular Music programme.
We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with an established academic practice, that includes teaching, module leadership, student support and administration, along with a background in the following:
• Contemporary Songwriting and Composition
• Music performance
• Community and participatory music practice
Our Music programmes facilitate a culture of critically-informed music making and production, and reflect the vocational and critical breadth of our academic staff, who maintain professional careers in live performance, broadcast, festival promotion, and the independent label sector. In addition, the department’s practice-based research activity engages with composition and performance, and our theoretical research includes music in relation to moving image, identity, culture, contemporary philosophy and digital economies.
