The School of Natural and Social Sciences at University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Policing.

The School comprises three Subject Communities—Social Sciences, Psychological Sciences, and Environmental Sciences—with over 1000 students and 50 academic, technician and administrative staff.  Our Social Sciences provision is experiencing year-on-year growth and we are investing in its expansion.

With a background in operational policing within the UK, the post holder will contribute primarily to the delivery of our BSc Professional Policing.  Licensed by the College of Policing, our course is the first approved 'pre-join degree' in the South West with an annual intake of c.50 students per annum. From September 2020 we will be teaching the first cohort to enter its final year (Level 6).

In particular, we are interested in candidates who can contribute to teaching in Roads Policing, and in Digital Policing.

The successful applicant will be an engaging and innovative lecturer who shares our student-centred ethos, is ready to offer a high standard of support and is willing to make a positive contribution to the student experience.  They will create opportunities for students to engage with external stakeholders and apply their learning in the community, helping them develop the skills and attributes required for fulfilling careers.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop a programme of research relevant to policing

Based at our attractive campus in Cheltenham, we offer a welcoming and positive working environment.
