Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Film Production, 1.0 FTE
The School
of Media is looking for an editing and sound specialist/s to
teach on our multi-award winning Film Production Course. This
full-time post could be divided into two part-time posts.
The school offers
undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Film, Television and
Animation, Music, Digital Media and Journalism and we have a growing number of
research students working in areas that encompass the School's academic
disciplines.
The School has a
reputation for providing high quality industry-linked education; our courses
are accredited by Screen Skills, the NCTJ and BJTC and we have trainer status
from AVID, Adobe and Pro-tools. We attract talented and motivated students who
are ready to move into the workplace as soon as they graduate.
The Media School has
an opportunity for the appointment of a lecturer/senior lecturer in Film
Production. The successful applicant will be able to support students
specifically within the practice of Editing/or Sound Recording & Design
across forms and platforms. A solid working knowledge of relevant
softwear, for instance, AVID and Adobe (Premier)/Protools and Various mixing
desks, is required. They should be an experienced Editor/Sound Designer who
maintains links to industry and has experience of editing/design across a wide
range of productions, including drama and documentary. They should also have
skills in critiquing production within the confines of the edit/mixing
suite. All editing candidates must also have a good understanding of
data wrangling/grading and sound post production workflows. The appointee will
also be required to teach into our new MA Film Making course.
