The University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an inspiring Graphic Design Lecturer (1.0 FTE) to cover Maternity leave.

Fixed Term until 31/03/2021

The Graphic Design course is all about developing students as distinctive creative individuals with great design skills and professional knowledge. The heart of the course is the development of creative thinking and innovative problem solving, along with the technical skills to be able to realise those creative ideas with clarity and simplicity. The course prides itself in preparing students to be able to meet the exciting opportunities evolving in the design industry, whether that is through being employed in the very best creative consultancies, or to create their own business and become creative entrepreneurs.

Our students actively participate in national and international design competitions and are consistently successful in achieving top awards.  To continue to build on our success, we are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join the team as maternity cover. The successful candidate will have recent experience of teaching students in HE. They will be able to bring their experience of working in the creative industries to teach students the creative process, the development of ideas and concepts, branding and marketing strategies, social media platforms, and what it takes to develop a professional career with Graphic Design today.  The appointed candidate will be expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum, as well as teach and assess students across all year groups.

The appointed individual may have the opportunity to take on the leadership of the Graphic Design course and will be expected to underpin their teaching with creative practice and research activities.
