Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Music (including potential Course Leadership for the MA in Creative Music Practice)

0.6 FTE

As a result of ongoing expansion and strong recruitment in our Music provision at the University of Gloucestershire, we are looking to appoint a part-time lecturer / senior lecturer in Music. If appropriate, the post would also include Course Leadership of the MA in Creative Music Practice.

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with an established academic practice, that includes teaching, module leadership, student support and administration, along with a background in two or more of the following

-          Entrepreneurship and enterprise

-          Musicology

-          Arts management

-          Community music practice

-          Music publishing and rights management

-          Music and sound production

-          Production and sound design for a range of visual media environments

-          Songwriting and composition.

In addition, we welcome applications from practitioners who are research active in the areas of music entrepreneurship, music performance, music production, interactive music, music and visual media, and who can demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the way in which music practice is evolving in response to a range of digital, audiovisual and economic contexts.

Our Music programmes reflect the vocational and critical breadth of our academic staff, who maintain professional careers in live performance, broadcast, festival promotion, and the independent label sector, and whose research includes music in relation to moving image, identity, culture, contemporary philosophy and digital economies.
