Disability Services Manager (maternity)

29.6 Hours per Week, 0.8 FTE

Park Campus Cheltenham

Starting January 2020

We are seeking an effective and customer-focused manager for a challenging role in the Student Services Department.

This is an opportunity to join a student focused department and make cross-university impact for disabled students.

The role will manage the Disability, Dyslexia and Learning Support Service and will be responsible for the provision of excellent service to students.   The University’s percentage of disabled students has been continually increasing and currently over 20% of the university’s undergraduate student population have disclosed a disability (noticeable increases in recent years have been in students with mental health difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder). This role manages the services supporting all disabled students and so knowledge and understanding of the support needs of students with a range of disabilities, including mental health difficulties, is required.

The successful candidate should have proven recent experience of management, supporting disabled people and an understanding of the issues relating to disabled people in a university setting. Customer focus, flexibility and organisational skills are is essential along with a willingness to provide students with an excellent experience.
