Description
Senior Lecturer in Architecture & Urban Design
18.5 hours, 0.5 FTE
(course development role, fixed term to July 31st 2020)
We are investing in our academic provision and are seeking to
appoint a Senior Lecturer as part of the development team for a range of
Construction related courses. Joining a team of experienced academic staff in
the Constructed Environment subject group, you will develop professionally
accredited programmes which will complement the existing University of
Gloucestershire Courses.
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic academic to make
a key contribution to the development of the new taught courses in Architecture
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the development of course
content, informed by pedagogic and contemporary subject specific developments
and building links with Industry and enterprise.
This appointment provides a significant opportunity to conceive content and develop new Architecture Education programmes, including Interior Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, BIM and Construction management related courses. The candidate will develop strong connections with local and international practices, advise on the development of marketing strategies to recruit students and professional learners, as well as undertake recruitment activities in the UK and internationally, liaise with accredited bodies and advise on the procurement of student facilities and resources to support the development of these programmes within the University setting.
You will be a either a fully qualified Architect with RIBA Pt3 and ARB registration (or equivalent) or architecturally qualified to at least RIBA Part 2 with an appropriate doctoral qualification or high level professional practice experience. You will ideally have undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in a school of architecture providing professionally validated architectural education, including experience of delivery to large cohorts.
The ability to work collaboratively and proactively, taking the
initiatives in a changing academic landscape is essential, as is the ability to
work within teams.
You will join the Constructed Environments subject group, within the School of Arts, based at Francis Close Hall Campus and contribute to the development of our growing undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio.
