18.5 hours, 0.5 FTE Senior Lecturer in Construction Project Management
(course development role,
fixed term to July 31st 2020)
We are expanding our academic provision and seeking to appoint a
part time fixed term Senior Lecturer as a key member of the development team for
a portfolio of Construction sector courses. Joining a team of experienced
academic staff within the Constructed Environment subject group you will
develop professionally accredited programmes which will complement the existing
University of Gloucestershire Courses.
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic academic to make
a key contribution to the development of new taught courses in Construction at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the development of course
content, informed by pedagogic and contemporary subject specific developments,
and building links with Industry and enterprise.
This appointment provides a significant opportunity to conceive content and develop new Construction Education programmes, such as Construction project management, construction technology, facilities management, Quantity Surveying and BIM. The candidate will develop strong connections with local and international practices, advise on the development of marketing strategies to recruit students and professional learners, as well as undertake recruitment activities in the UK and internationally, liaise with accredited bodies and advise on the procurement of appropriate student facilities and resources to support the development of these programmes within the University setting.
We welcome applicants with a relevant higher degree. The
successful applicant is likely to have a background in Construction, Quantity
Surveying, Commercial Management or Lifecycle Management within the Construction
sector. With a first degree in Construction Project Management or similar and a
masters degree in an additional related subject area. The ability to
demonstrate HE level teaching experience, and/or a Higher Education Academy
(HEA) accredited teaching qualifications would be expected.
Applications are welcome from those with a background in professional practice who can demonstrate extensive knowledge in the areas described. Ideally as a member of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and or Chartered Quantity Surveyor or similar professional membership background.
The ability to work collaboratively and proactively, taking the
initiatives in a changing academic landscape is essential, as is the ability to
work within teams.
You will join the Constructed Environments subject group, within
the School of Arts, based at Francis Close Hall Campus and contribute to the development
of our growing undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio.
