18.5 hours per week – precise hours subject to negotiation and business needs
The University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and personable professional to its central health and safety team. The role is based within the Estates Department at the Park campus, Cheltenham and line managed by the Health, Safety & Quality Manager, who reports through to the Director of Estates. The role of the team is to provide an effective and efficient safety management service across the whole Institution and work closely with key University partners in the pursuit of mutual excellence.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining health and safety administration systems and procedures, completing fieldwork/safety training, assisting with the business of the Health & Safety Committee and working with the Health, Safety & Quality Manager to continue developing a University-wide culture of safety improvement and compliance.
Good IT skills are essential and you must also have excellent organisational skills, be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines. On occasions, the post holder will be required to deputise for the Health, Safety & Quality Manager and be keen to learn new skills, as the University continues to grow into new areas of academia and business.
