Outreach and NCOP Coordinator

Vacancy Details

Salary: Grade 5 £24,416 - £26,715 pa/pr
Job Type: Support
Closing Date: 10/06/2019
Date Posted: 09/19/2019
Reference: S1668

18.5 hours per week, 0.5FTE

The Outreach, Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team works closely with prospective students, teachers, advisers and parents in highlighting higher education (HE) as a progression route.  A range of activities and events are delivered to raise awareness of and aspiration to HE, as well as activities to highlight the University of Gloucestershire as a potential choice institution.

The University of Gloucestershire is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) funded by the Office for Students (OfS). The project works with schools to target young people who have the ability to go onto further study but come from areas with lower than expected higher education (HE) progression rates, given prior GCSE attainment rates.

The Outreach and NCOP Coordinator will support the wider Outreach team to deliver projects and activities for the University’s Partnership Schools and Colleges in addition to coordinating the University’s offer for the NCOP to aid an increase in progression to further and higher education.

We are looking for a person who has experience of organising and delivering events as well as delivering a range of engaging presentations and talks.  The post holder will be required to support the team to develop and deliver innovative projects and activities, as well as help provide a range of admin and marketing functions. Data entry and manipulation skills would be beneficial.

This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic, can problem solve and think on their feet, can engage teenage audiences and has an interest in the widening participation agenda.

Closing Date: Sunday 6th October 2019

Interview Date: Wednesday 16th October 2019

The University understands the benefits of recruiting a diverse range of people and welcome applications from underrepresented sections of the community.
