Are you a qualified and experienced financial accountant with strong demonstrable technical knowledge who has a thorough understanding of financial reporting standards (FRS102), committed to continuous improvement with the ability and enthusiasm to manage, support and motivate a team?
The University Finance team is committed to delivering a high quality service supporting the University in achieving its strategic goals to be financially sustainable and responsible. We are looking for an experienced CCAB qualified candidate with excellent communication skills who shares our aspirations and wants to make a real difference in this challenging role. You will be primarily responsible for the production of the University’s consolidated financial statements and the primary contact for all major University projects / contracts providing complex accounting advice supporting business decisions. You will be responsible for the leadership of the Financial Accounts team in addition to the management and development of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger teams.
You will be educated to a high standard and must be CCAB
qualified. You must have recent experience of preparing consolidated financial
statements under FRS102 whilst achieving a clean audit report. It is essential
that you are able to demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to
apply financial reporting standards to complex scenarios. With recent relevant
experience, you must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to
explain technical accounting issues to non-finance specialists. You must have
the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team to drive high quality services
forward.
