An exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen within the Finance and Planning Department at the University of Gloucestershire for an experienced, systems focussed accountant.

The Financial Performance team is part of the Finance and Planning Department and is dedicated to the provision of professional services to support the University planning processes and managing its resources, in a controlled and sustainable manner.  The team have responsibility for providing a finance business partnering service to academic and professional departments and has a key role to play in developing management information and scenario planning to support the University decision making processes and is also responsible for the production and coordination of all statutory returns to external agencies including OfS and HESA.

This key role will take a lead role in managing a team of system experts. This team would be responsible for ensuring all of the team’s data, regulatory returns, reports, operational practices such as journals, pay forecasting are performed and governed in the most efficient manner.

You will be educated to a high standard and either fully qualified or on track to achieve a relevant professional qualification; you will be self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills.  With relevant experience in an accounts and/or Business Partnering role you will also have good organisational and administrative skills.  The ability to work under pressure, adhere to strict deadlines and to be flexible is essential.  Advanced Excel knowledge and experience of analysing and extracting data from relational databases are both essential.
