Student Finance Adviser

 

£27,025 - £32,236 (Grade 6)

 

18.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE these hours can be worked over 5 days or 4 days with the Tuesday as a non-working day

 

We are seeking an effective and customer-focused Student Finance Adviser for a challenging role within the Student Services Department:

 

The Money Advice Team offer advice and guidance in applying for government funding such as tuition fee loans, maintenance loans, grants, university bursaries and hardship funds. They can also help with benefits, budgeting and debt related queries.

 

The role will in general be delivered from University Helpzones on an appointment basis but will also include representing the service at University recruitment events. Our Student Finance Advisers are responsible for the effective responses to enquiriesfrom students, University staff and the wider community either in person, on the telephone or by e-mail.

 

The successful candidate should have recent experience of providing advice and guidance to students, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Customer focus, flexibility and organisational skills are essential along with a willingness to provide students with an excellent experience.
