Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our School of Law within the School of Business and Technology. We are looking for exceptional candidates to join a well-established dynamic team.
Our New Business School includes a Mock Court room and many state-of-the-art new facilities for both staff and students, including a collaborative lecture room, social learning space and breakout areas.
Business partnerships are at the heart of what we do and this will be enhanced by our colocation with the regional LEP, Growth Hub and University in Business in our new facilities. We focus on producing career ready graduates - our law students gain experience beyond the classroom through opportunities to participate in internships, Client Interviewing, Mooting, and our student Law Clinic.
To become part of our team you will be someone who can contribute to high quality teaching and work successfully with a range of students across our expanding course portfolio. We would welcome applications from candidates with experience of teaching EU Law or Equity and Trusts as well as a range of core or optional LLB modules. Examples of additional subject areas that the successful candidate would ideally be able to deliver include Commercial Law, Employment Law, Family Law and Lawyers’ Skills. We would also welcome applicants interested in developing new modules aligned to their subject specialism or interests. We are keen to hear from applicants who would be able to contribute to practical extra-curricular activities, including Client Interviewing, Mooting and the Law Clinic.
If you have the drive and enthusiasm for your subject area we can give you the opportunities to be involved in teaching, doctoral supervision, research, and income generating activities. For the position available at grade of Senior Lecturer, you should be able to contribute to the academic management of the subject community in a variety of ways. Such candidates would also be expected to take on an academic management role within the subject group such as: course leadership; contributing to academic development; REF submission; generating research income; or generating Business Development income.
The School of Law subject group is expanding its portfolio
from 2019 by introducing additional LLB courses. We pride ourselves on our
support for students and aiding students in their employability and personal
growth, through innovative pedagogy developments and real-world engagements in
our programmes.
Closing Date: Sunday 8th September 2019
